( Our peaches are missing a few!The girls wanted them as soon as we got out of the car!)
So today the Farmers Market in Batavia is open until 5 p.m. and it is prime time to buy your local foods!
It’s really prime time to start canning! Ahh I love canning and by the end of it I can’t wait for it to be over. I am going to post my whole canning process over on my DIY stories page. I’ll make and can salsa, spaghetti sauce, and dice the rest!
But Today I got 2 Bushels of Tomatoes, and peaches for $28.
You could not buy that many tomatoes over at Tops for $10! And if you are wondering if we grow our own tomatoes, yes we do. I have 6 tomato plants but I never get enough at one time to can. For $10 it is well worth it. I use these tomatoes for strictly canning!
Right now it is two bushels for $20. I am not sure how much one is, I think $15 maybe.
The peaches were only $8 and they are seconds. But in our mixture we have some perfectly ripe, a few overripe and had one not quite ready. We will freeze our peaches but always depends on how many we eat. I may have to go back for more peaches!
